About Tutor

I am looking to bring my vast experience as an educator to your benefit. I have been a private tutor for the past 2 years; being well-versed in high school mathematics, sciences, and programming courses. These include such important academic courses as Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science. I have also been a classroom instructor of 20 students on average and is well adaptable to such environments.

Pertinent experience and skills for the posted position include:

*The power of effective translation of theoretical knowledge into practical terms. Through my experiences, I have learned to accommodate to the road block of many students. Often a times they are intimidated by the seemingly abstract concepts of mathematics and science. I am able to describe and translate these concepts into words that “make sense” to them; which eliminates a lot of brutal memorization, or enhances memorization by tying them into interesting and relevant ideas.

*The ability to empathize and connect with individual students. In my mind, no two students are the same. My knowledge of people in general give me a good sense to what kind of person the student may be; which proves to be a critical element in realize the kinds of difficulty they may be having with school work. For example persons of rebellious nature that oppose any to all kinds of authority would call for a less formal approach.

*Strong mathematics background. I have been a Mathematics and Physics specialist at the University of Toronto. I have been exposed to high end courses such as MAT157, MAT223/224, etc. I have studied math texts by renowned authors such as Michael Spivak and Sheldon Axler.
